How We Learned to Play Piano

I started taking piano lessons when I was four year years old stopped when I was 15 years old.  I've had quite a few piano teachers and had plenty of time to practice which I hate to admit that I didn't take full advantage of all the time I had. I could have practiced more.  Anyway, when I was 15 years old my family and I had just moved to Sparks Nevada and that's when I stopped taking piano.  I was in high school and didn't really think I needed or wanted them anymore.  Plus I was busy with school, friends, church, friends oh, did I say friends already...well you can see what my priorities were back then.  Anyway, I still played the piano every now and then and I was satisfied with my skills at that time.
Now as a parent, I wanted my own kids to have that skill so I put them in piano lessons too.  They started out loving it then after a few lessons and practice it got old.  Raise your hand if you can relate.
Well, a few years ago I found out about Piano Marvel.  It's an interactive computer software that helps kids learn 4 to 8 times faster than traditional lessons.  Now don't get me wrong, it does not replace traditional piano lessons but rather enhances them.  It's so fun to play with the software.  It's like guitar hero but for your piano.  Here is a link to the website so you can see for yourself.  If you like it and would like to try it, you can use my promo code 'singer' to get a 20% discount.
My girls have loved it and so have I.  I brushed up on my skills and even learned more.  When I quit piano lessons in high school I was at level 5 and now I'm at level 6.  My girls started at the very beginning and now they're almost at levels 3 and 4.   Here are videos of them when they were starting...

Thanks for coming to my blog!  Have a great day!
