Today I want to show you what I sewed. My first project of the summer! I found this really cute pattern for a pair of shorts for summer, for my daughter who really needed shorts. I really wanted to make them instead of buy them, so I tried really hard to make them cheaper than it cost to buy them. I did find a way to do that. I found fabric for $2-$4 a yard, which is about what the pattern called for for her size and with the trim and elastic it all came to about $15 for everything not including the pattern which I found on etsy. The Etsy shop is called Striped Swallowed Designs. (I'm not being paid to talk about this shop), I just want to give credit where credit is due. It's an easy pattern to follow, with full colored pictures and instructions. I made three pairs of shorts in like 3 or 4 hours, so far....WHAT! I love projects like these! I got enough fabric to make five pairs. What?! Five pairs of shorts for $15?! That's like $3 for one pair of shorts! Can't beat that! Ha Ha!
Here is Abby in one of her new summer outfits....
I love the bird fabric! Less than $4 a yard at Walmart!
I even cut out one of those cute little birds and sewed it on a
t-shirt to match! Tada!
